Basseterre, St. Kitts — The St. Kitts Department of Sports proudly recognizes the continued progress of national football talent Savi-K Morton, who has begun training with Atlanta United 2 (ATL UTD 2), the official reserve team of Major League Soccer (MLS) club Atlanta United FC.
At just 17 years old, Morton is taking a significant step forward in his football development by entering one of the most competitive and structured development systems in North America. ATL UTD 2 competes in MLS NEXT Pro, a league designed to bridge the gap between youth academies and first-team professional football.
Player Profile and Development
Born on 6 January 2009, Morton is regarded as one of the Federation’s most promising young attackers. Primarily deployed as a right winger, his versatility allows him to operate effectively on the left flank or in an attacking midfield role. Known for his left-footed ability and attacking presence, he continues to develop into a well-rounded offensive player.
International Representation
Morton has already built an impressive international résumé, representing St. Kitts & Nevis at the U-17 and U-20 levels, where he has scored crucial goals in regional competition. His rapid rise also saw him earn his senior national team debut in Indonesia, marking a key milestone in his young career.
Club Journey
Prior to this opportunity, Morton featured for Chapelton Maroons, before further advancing his development at the Kalonji Soccer Academy, which is closely aligned with the MLS development ecosystem.
Pathway to Professional Football
Training with Atlanta United 2 provides Morton with exposure to elite coaching, high-performance standards, and competitive match environments. The club serves as a direct pipeline to the MLS first team, offering players the opportunity to secure Homegrown or MLS NEXT Pro professional contracts.
This latest achievement reflects both Morton’s dedication and the continued emergence of football talent from St. Kitts & Nevis on the international stage.
The Department of Sports congratulates Savi-K Morton on this milestone and looks forward to his continued growth and success.
